Design Studio: 1956 Ford F100 Door Panel

February 17, 2016 By Naseem Muaddi

Auto Upholstery - The Hog Ring - 1956 Ford F100

Last year we launched a series of hot rod door panel illustrations in The Hog Ring Design Studio. They were a big hit, with auto upholsterers all over the world using the illustrations to design custom interiors for their clients.

Today, we’re expanding the door panel series to include an illustration of one of the most iconic pickup trucks in automotive history: the 1956 Ford F100.

Like car seats, door panels are another element of a vehicle’s interior where upholstery pros can let their imaginations run wild. With an infinite number of color combinations, patterns, fabrics, metal trim and armrest designs, virtually any idea can be realized.

But like any custom job, it’s a good idea to sketch your ideas on paper before making a single stitch. Doing so will help you and your client visualize the finished product and avoid any costly design changes after the work has begun.

Our 1956 Ford F100 door panel illustration is an inside view of the passenger side of the vehicle with the door panel and kick panel left blank. A faint outline depicts the locations of the window crank and door handle to help you align your pattern.

Simply download and print the illustration. When clients arrive for a consultation or estimate, break out a set of color pencils and sketch your ideas right on the illustration. Make note of color swatch numbers and other details in the title box on the bottom right corner. Finally, have clients sign off on drafts before stapling copies to their receipts. This will eliminate any future confusion or disputes about the project.

Through The Hog Ring Design Studio, we aim to simplify the consultation process. Visit our library of illustrations and print them free of charge. Don’t forget to send us your finished renderings for a chance to have them featured on The Hog Ring!

Excelente sugerencia, sobre el tema de usar lapices de colores en los bosquejos
    para evitar confusiones.
