I have a sketch I did for my shop logo but I just don't have the fine art skills to put it on paper to be digitized and used for my shirts and sign. Do any of you have anyone you can recommend ??????

That is exactly what I am going through right now! I can't draw to save my life! But,I have some ideas floating around in my head that I think are very cool. I happened to ask my brother-in-law if he knew anyone that can draw and he hooked me up with one of his best friends that is a great artist! We have been working together now for a couple of weeks and are getting our new logo dialed in. I think that it's key having someone that you can meet with and bang out ideas over a couple of beers or coffee or whatever. The thing about this forum is that we are all so far from each other that that would be almost impossible. I will be happy to ask this guy if he is interested in doing another logo after we are finished but, like I said before,it might be pretty hard doing it through emails and text messages.

Great, I'm anxious to see your logo. Please be sure to let me know when it's done. If you don't mind what have you figured it's going to cost.

If anybody needs some help with the artwork and digitizing, let me know. I have been doing embroidery for a while and can convert any images you have to vector art and embroidery files so you can take it to your local shirt/logo/embroidery store.

Feel free to email me directly: joe at jpmusa.com

In the past, I've used web services like 99 Designs to make my logos [ http://99designs.com/ ].

However, it's a bit difficult to have an open exchange of ideas with the artist and it can get pretty expensive if you're not satisfied right off the bat.

JPM's offer to digitize images is great - thank you! Vector is the only way to go!

As a creative professional, I felt the right thing to do was to hire an artist who specializes in branding, identity and specifically logo art when I did this recently. I liked a hot rod shops logo and t-shirt designs. So, I found who did the work for them. I contacted the artist through his website. Ultimately he did my logo, business cards and a bad ass t-shirt design for me. It cost a lot less than I expected. I am exceptionally happy with his work. I did this entirely over email. In very little time, he gave me exactly what I wanted.

My .02 - pay it forward and hire a pro.

Working class brings up a valid point. And his logo is sweet and actually kind of inspired me a little bit to get mine done (along with some other factors). If you are looking for something faster then I would agree that a pro is the way to go. This guy is a very talented artist and is enjoying doing this but, he is also an aspiring architect and has more on his plate. I am not speaking for him by any means and he might want to help you out, it just might take longer then necessary. I will post pics as soon as possible. And I will talk to him about you if you still want me too.

Might be able to walk into a reputable local tattoo studio and work with one of their artist for an hour or so and bang out your logo. They might even be able to digitize it for you to.

Besides the upholstery shop I also have an embroidery business http://www.trinityemb.com. We have been in business for almost 13 years. We do art and digitizing in house. We also have 8 embroidery heads to do production work. If any of you need stuff done send an e-mail and we can give you a quote. info@trinityemb.com

as far as getting your ideas put to paper for a final design you might also try an art major at a local college.
