Hey guys,

I'm installing a new top and window on a 96 Mustang and the last guy who did the job butchered it. Half the hardware was missing when I got it. I'm looking for the 12 point 13 millimeter nuts that attach the rear tack bow to the body. There are supposed to be 19 but the bar only had ten installed. Does anyone know where I can buy these nuts? I called the dealer and he said he couldn't get them.

Cheapest would be out of a wrecked on at the junkyard. But you might also contact Hydro-Electric. They have just about anything for any convertible.

Or, pull off the sail panels at the back on either side of the seat and I bet you'll find the rest of the nuts down in the car itself. He probably dropped them as they were being installed and just elected to ignore rather than retrieve them.

when a car is missing the tac bar hardware I always look under the rear seat or in the Quarter panel for the missing hardware. It is usualy still in the car half the time.

My local dealership says they are still available. They come in packs of 10. I can have them tomorrow. Ford part # N808521-S. Let me know if you still need them. I will ship them to you.

Wow thanks AUNC, my Ford dealership couldn't find them on their computer when I called last week. That part number helped out alot. I called them up, gave it to them and they found them right away. So I ordered them and should have them in a couple days.

I really appreciate your help and your offer to get them for me. Thanks alot!

:) It was my pleasure! It's the least I could do to return the favor that is this forum. I don't think you guys know how much I enjoy THR. Everything from getting tips to giving them or just reading threads and seeing the superior work that is done around the world. Where else are you going to find guys like Roy Kieth, Fatlucky, Shannon Walters and Brent Parker exchanging ideas and tips on the same thread?! I have replaced my Facebook addiction with The Hog Ring (or as my wife calls it, The Hedge Hog)Haha! For real, the thanks goes to you guys. :P

It's our pleasure AUNC! It has been a lot of hard work balancing the responsibilities of The Hog Ring while operating a full time trim shop. Especially now since THR is busier than ever and summer time is my shop's busy season. Nadeem and I eat, sleep, and breathe auto upholstery and this is truly a labor of love.
