Post Question on gs300 visors

So working on a friends 2001 Lexus gs300, noticed leatherseats made a cover for the visors and haha I'm curious how, because they are the real thick molded type and the seams are heat sealed

I can grab the pattern but how is it finished off? Possibly hand sewn? He's a friend but not the good of one hahah just kiddin

Thanks

Those are the worst kind of visors! You can make a pattern and turn it inside out, machine sew all it around until the side that is near the door, flip it right side out and slip it on (silicone spray is your friend here) and and then hand stitch up the open side.

Just like Ferbs said. you can either do a visible cross stitch at the top if you want to get fancy or just do a blind stitch to close it up cleanly.

You end up using a curved needle to sew the seam together completely by hand. You'll have to check out examples online if someone doesn't post one up here. I have literally no practice with those so I can't really comment on the best way to go about it.

Great advice here. I do not remember doing a particular set of visors for a GS300, but we might have in the past. There is really only one way to do molded visors like that and both JPM and Ferbs hit the nail on the head. Hand-stitching has to be done at some point, but the extent of that hand-stitching depends on the look you are going for.

Coachtrim sells an attachment to the Flex'N Hold we're giving away this week that holds a visor in place while you hand stitch it. Another reason to try and win it? Oh yeah...
