Savage Rivale Rethinks Convertible Tops

March 30, 2012 By Nadeem Muaddi

Dutch automaker Savage Rivale is bringing the four-door convertible back in style with a new state-of-the-art retractable frame that’s sure to revolutionize the future of drop tops.

The highly anticipated convertible Roadyacht GTS is still in development, but Savage Rivale has released the following animated video of its Retractable Telescopic Multi Panel (RTMP) roof mechanism in action.

According to Auto Blog, “The mechanism is based around a retractable arm that deploys with the glass panels and then forms the backbone for the structure once in place, with locking mechanisms in the C pillars.”

The fixed-roof version of the Roadyacht GTS is set to debut at next month’s Top Marques show in Monaco. No word yet on when the convertible will be complete. But one thing’s for sure – it’ll be priced outside of my budget.

Retired…I Still Remeber My Dad’s 1959 Ford , White With A retractable Hardtop. Thses New Hardtop Convertables Will Fit Certain Nitches. A Rag Top Just Dosent Seem Safe To some People. I Myself Always Think What If The Tops Down And The Battery Dies And It Starts To Rain.
