Albright’s Supply is hosting an “Open House” on Oct. 18 that no auto trimmer should miss! There will be food, door prizes, facility tours and steep discounts on offer. Since January we have been operating a custom-engineered, state-of-the-art order-pulling system. There is not another system like this in the industry. It has greatly improved our customer experience by correctly cataloging items with their locations utilizing bar codes. Thus cutting down on mistakes, and speeding up the order-pulling process. We will be picking orders so that you can actually see your order go from computer entry all the way to packed and shipped.

We have added a number of new machines to process foam. These large blocks can be sliced, cut or contoured. We will show you how each operation is performed. We also will show you our foam-packing process.

More and more people are using the web store to place their orders 24/7. We will be showing a web demo to show you some tips and tricks to make the experience uncomplicated. We will also preview the new enhanced site going live in December.

Our picking system sends the order puller to the correct location where the item is. A particular color of a pattern may be in 6 different locations in varied measurements. The system looks at the amount ordered. It then sends the order puller to the location where the roll giving the best utilization is. We know where every roll is, and what the yardage of that roll is. Also after we have picked your order, the system will likely send the roll back to a different location based on the regularity of sales. So the system automatically puts the roll back to a location based on the most frequently pulled items being closest to the cutting tables.

Our average pick time is under 3 minutes, which means we can process many more orders per hour. Our output per picker is almost 5 times what it was before, and they (warehouse staff) will tell you they are working smarter not harder.
