Auto Upholstery - The Hog Ring - Maserati Paint Spill

Think you’re having a bad day? Imagine how the owner of this Maserati feels.

The Australian driver was cruising down the street in his super luxury car when he suddenly swerved to avoid hitting a dog. The car jerked so hard that it sent a can of house paint sitting on the backseat flying, spilling its contents all over the plush interior.

The damage was so extensive — $60,000 in repairs — that the owner’s insurance company decided to scrap the car.

“As the tin flew around the car like a mini tornado, the leather interior and windscreen were liberally splashed with a thick coat of white paint,” said insurance claims manager Hayley Cain.

“Fortunately the driver was fine, but given the extent of damage to the interior, our insurance assessors declared it a write-off.”

thats a lazy excuse. a can of paint wont just pop open wen tumbling and flying thru a car. i would rather think of a angry wife or girlfriend having a hand in this

wahahahah no but i can see when you got the cash to drive a car like that. you have a different view on life and girls fit in that life and they are not really permanent in a life style like that and if they dont know that. it might rain paint in your car like this fine example. but i dont know just geussing. i would not admit to a angry girlfriend either. being a asshole isnt really a thing to be proud of 😉

Hahaha good points JustVince! On the bright side, if someone can afford a Maserati, I’m sure the same person can afford to have it repaired (or even replaced).

I had a gallon of weldwood do that to my truck once, years ago. It was summer and my ac was out, and the heat made the lid blow off the can on the floor of the back seat so hard that it bounced off the headliner, and landed in the front seat, along with the big trail of glue that came with it.
