Happy Car Collector Appreciation Day!

July 10, 2015 By Nadeem

Auto Upholstery - The Hog Ring - Car Collector Appreciation Day

How’s this for an excuse to skip out of work early? It’s Car Collector Appreciation Day! And to celebrate the new holiday, you need to drop the top on your project car and cruise the boulevard to the nearest car show.

That’s right! Since 2010, a U.S. Senate Resolution requested by SEMA has marked the second Friday in the month of July as a national holiday for car collectors.

SEMA explains:

A wide range of automotive events are held on the second Friday in July to honor Collector Car Appreciation Day (CCAD). At the request of the SEMA Action Network (SAN), this “holiday” has been marked each year since 2010 by a U.S. Senate Resolution recognizing that the “collection and restoration of historic and classic cars is an important part of preserving the technological achievements and cultural heritage of the United States.” As this annual event continues to grow worldwide, states, provinces, counties and cities are following suit with their own recognition. The SAN encourages participation throughout the month of July to honor the classics of the past and the future.

Visit SAN’s website for a list of Car Collector Appreciation Day events near you. Also, check out the promo video below staring Courtney Hansen of popular automotive TV shows Overhaulin’ and Powerblock.
