Design Studio: 1967-68 Mustang Door Panel

April 7, 2016 By Naseem Muaddi

Auto Upholstery - The Hog Ring - 1967 Ford Mustang

The Hog Ring Design Studio continues its popular “door panel series” for a third straight month by adding a new illustration to the mix — this time for the 1967-68 Ford Mustang.

Like car seats, door panels are another element of a vehicle’s interior where upholstery pros can let their imaginations run wild. With an infinite number of color combinations, patterns, fabrics, metal trim and armrest designs, virtually any idea can be realized.

But like all custom jobs, it’s a good idea to sketch your ideas on paper before making a single stitch. Doing so will help you and your client visualize the finished product and avoid costly design changes after the work has begun.

Our 1967-68 Ford Mustang door panel illustration is an inside view of the passenger side of the vehicle with the door panel and kick panel left blank. A faint outline depicts the locations of the window crank and door handle to help you align your pattern.

Simply download and print the illustration. When clients arrive for a consultation or estimate, break out a set of color pencils and sketch your ideas right on the image. Make note of color swatch numbers and other details in the title box on the bottom right corner. Finally, have clients sign off on drafts before stapling copies to their receipts. This will eliminate any future confusion or disputes about the project.

Through The Hog Ring Design Studio, we aim to simplify the consultation process. Visit our library of illustrations and print them free of charge. Don’t forget to send us your finished renderings for a chance to have them featured on The Hog Ring.
