Of all the vehicles unveiled at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show, the 2017 Mercedes-Maybach S650 Cabriolet is perhaps the most luxurious – featuring a posh interior and convertible topping by the Haartz Corporation to match.
The limited-edition model, of which only 300 are being produced, features a long list of high-end accoutrements, including first-rate leathers, inlaid wood veneers, deep-pile carpeting, chrome-plated trim and matching luggage.
The seats are particularly noteworthy, as they feature a unique perforated design and “dynamic flowing lines” the German automaker likens to a waterfall.
“This waterfall-like seat upholstery layout is achieved with the aid of progressive perforations,” according to Mercedes-Benz. “An eye for detail is also demonstrated in the outer diamond quilting on the seat side bolsters.”
The super luxury vehicle also sports a convertible soft top made from Haartz’s Sonnenland A5B/DS acoustic topping. The top’s rubber inner layer blocks several decibels of noise from entering the cabin, ensuring a quiet and comfortable drive.
The woven soft top is available in black, beige and dark blue. Unlike many soft tops that are only colored on the surface, Haartz’s Sonnenland A5B/DS topping is infused with pigment early in the manufacturing process. This means the color runs through every fiber.
Other super luxury cars topped with Sonnenland A5B/DS include the Bentley GTO and Jaguar F-Type.
To protect it all, the S650 Cabriolet comes with a diamond-quilted vehicle cover that matches the soft top’s color. How’s that for added luxury?
Take a look for yourself:
Of course, the S650 isn’t just gorgeous, it’s powerful too. It’s equipped with a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter, 621-horsepower V12 engine; 7G-Tronic seven-speed automatic transmission; and AIRMATIC suspension system with variable damping control.
The price will top the $247,900 Mercedes-AMG S65 Cabriolet – but in this elite class of super luxury vehicles, you’ve got to pay to play.
