California Trim Shop Damaged in Fire

September 19, 2018 By Nadeem Muaddi

The Hog Ring - California Trim Shop Damaged in Fire

Glamorous Upholstery in Modesto, California, was damaged this week after a neighboring building erupted in flames that quickly spread.

A four-alarm fire erupted on Friday in a building that houses AJ Batteries and Albert’s Tire & Wheels. Both businesses were gutted by the flames.

The fire were so strong that it quickly engulfed two nearby business, including Glamorous Upholstery. It’s unclear how extensive the damage was at the upholstery shop.

Nearly 60 firefighters and 12 fire engines responded to the scene. A firefighter with the Ceres Fire Department was injured, but is expected to make a full recovery. No one else was injured in the blaze.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Authorities suspect it was caused by an ember from nearly a block away, according to The Modesto Bee.

Though it’s not always possible to prevent fires, remember that auto upholstery shops can take steps to limit their losses — such as storing combustible items properly, ensuring their buildings are up to code, and staying on top of their insurance policy coverage terms and payments.

Also, please join us in wishing Glamorous Upholstery and other impacted businesses a speedy recovery.
