SEMA will host a “Student Career Day” at this year’s annual show — with the goal of introducing high school and college students to opportunities in the aftermarket industry.
It will be the fourth such event in SEMA’s history. The association decided to start hosting career days after a 2016 industry-wide survey revealed that the majority of aftermarket businesses are in need of skilled employees, but don’t know where to find them.
“The program serves to address the talent pipeline by highlighting the diversity of career paths in the automotive aftermarket,” SEMA said. “Whether your company is currently hiring or looking to increase exposure with the next-generation workforce, the Student Career Day is a great platform to connect with students and enthusiasts.”
About 700 students are expected to attend this year’s event. More than 40 businesses will be present, with more registering to participate each day.
Registration is free for students and companies.
The 2019 SEMA Show will be held on November 5 – 8 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The “Student Career Day” will take place on November 4 from 1:00 p.m.–3:30 p.m at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino Paradise Event Center.
