The Hog Ring - Trimmer Luke Raymond Green Dies at 100

Trimmer Luke Raymond Green of Providence, Rhode Island, has died at age 100.

Luke, who was born in Johnston, was a WWII Army Veteran. He served with distinction in a guerrilla warfare unit during the Philippine Campaign under the command of Col. Ferdinand Marcos, who later became the President of the Philippines, according to his obituary.

After the war, he trained in auto upholstery and opened Green’s Auto Seat Covers in Warren. He operated the business until retirement.

Luke died on September 18, 2021. “He loved life and meeting new people, and most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends,” his obituary says.

He is survived by his daughter, Cathy Capalbo; son Kenneth Green; granddaughter, Elizabeth Santilli; and three great-grandchildren.

May he Rest In Peace.
