NC Signs NIL Deal with UNC-Bound Football Star

May 18, 2024 By Nadeem Muaddi

The Hog Ring - NC Signs NIL Deal with UNC-Bound Football Star

What does NC Carpet Binding & Equipment have in common with University of North Carolina? Aside from the initials “NC,” it’s Peter Pesansky.

Mal Maher, CEO of NC, just signed the UNC-bound high school football star to a Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) deal that’ll see the player promote the company. It’s the first known NIL deal in our industry.

“As a family business this was just a natural fit.  Peter and his family are tight-knit and the UNC Football Program preaches a strong family environment.” said Maher. “Most important to us, the kid is relentlessly driven and has a heart of gold.”

Of course, Pesansky is no ordinary player. The 6’3”, 282-lb defensive lineman from Jesuit High School in Tampa, Florida, is ranked as one of the top defensive ends in the nation. In addition to his extraordinary size and strength, Peter has an unrivaled motor — running the 40-yard dash in just 4.8 seconds. A four-time All-State Player, Peter has even received All American Accolades. Perhaps most impressive is being named a Freshman All-American.

Pesansky is an absolute beast. He was a key contributor to Tampa Jesuit’s football program that went 15-1 and clinched the Sunshine State 6A state title. While facing double and triple teams his entire career, Peter amassed 364 tackles, 39 sacks, 49 tackles for loss, 104 QB hurries and most important to him: 48 wins and 7 losses.

The four-star recruit verbally committed to UNC on April 24, 2023 and has NFL aspirations.

As far as NC Carpet Bindng is concerned, Maher says Pesansky has a lifetime contract with them so long as he’d like to be a part of the NC Family: “Listen, he’s going to get bigger NIL endorsement deals from other companies. Our small company can’t compete with that, but we take pride in being first and thrilled that Peter accepted our offer.“

Maher explained that Peter’s excited for phase 1 of the NIL deal, which includes custom t-shirts for family and friends, as well as additional compensation. More specific details will be revealed on the NC Shop Talk Podcast in the coming months.

“His recruitment journey story is epic and we’ll be discussing it on the next podcast. He’s not just a standout player, but most important Peter is a 10-star human being,” Maher said.

Pesansky is also thrilled. “It’s extremely exciting to start this new chapter off with NC Carpet Binding,” he said. “I’m so excited that they are willing to work with me.”

His father, Joe Pesansky, added: “We’re so happy and excited for Peter and looking forward to what the future holds for him.”

Maher said “there’s so much to talk about in regards to Peter and we’ll get to all that sooner than later. It’s our hope that you’ll all follow and support his rise to stardom.”
