Some Jeep Grand Wagoneers Have Mismatched Seats

September 27, 2024 By Nadeem

The Hog Ring - Some Jeep Grand Wagoneers Have Mismatched Seats

Jeep may have to issue a recall for the Grand Wagoneer, which reportedly has mismatched seat upholstery.

According to Auto Evolution, one of the third-row seats sports the Quilted Palermo leather-trimmed upholstery with massage function that comes standard on the Series III. The other seat features Obsidian trim, which is not quilted.

The issue does not appear to be model-wide. Rather, it appears to be a failure of quality control on some vehicles.

“So, apparently, technicians chose the wrong seats and placed them inside the SUV, and the quality control team failed to notice,” Auto Evolution reports. “That is where usually the products with defects are fixed, sent back to the production line to be fixed, or, if unfixable, the product is scrapped.”

The issue came to light after a Grand Wagoneer owner shared a photo of his mismatched seats on Reddit. Soon, other owners began commenting that their vehicles also have mismatched seats.

“Jeep is most likely going to issue a recall and schedule the owner of the vehicles to the service shop to replace the wrong seat,” Auto Evolution says.

Jeep has yet to comment on the issue.
