The Hog Ring - Trimmer Raymond Tkacs Dies at 80

Trimmer Raymond Tkacs of East Providence, Rhode Island, has died at age 80.

Raymond was born on June 28, 1944 in Providence. After completing his studies, he became a lifelong trimmer.

“For over six decades, Ray poured his passion into Tkacs Auto Upholstery in East Providence, the third generation to operate the family-owned business,” his obituary says. “His dedication to his work was unparalleled, and he became a respected figure in the community, known for his craftsmanship and the personal touch he brought to every project. The business was more than a livelihood for Ray; it was his whole life, a place where he not only honed his skills but also enjoyed time with lifelong friends.”

Outside of upholstery, Raymond enjoyed playing golf and traveling, and outings with friends and family.

Sadly, he died on March 8, 2025. “Ray’s legacy is one of love, hard work, and commitment to the things that matter most in life: family, community, and the pursuit of one’s passions. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him,” his obituary says.

He is survived by his two daughters, Christine Pacheco and Beth Becotte; grandchildren, Alyshia, Brenna, Dominick, Brady and Barrett; great granddaughter, Alexia; step children, Renee C. Yehle and William Capron, along with their families.

May he Rest in Peace.
