The Hog Ring - Trimmer Paul Albin Dies at 89

Trimmer Paul D. Albin of Sedalia, Missouri, has died at age 89.

Paul was born on March 25, 1936, in California, Missouri. In his late teens, he began learning the craft of auto upholstery and eventually opened his own shop in California, before moving it to Tipton. In 1957, he and a partner, Earl Blaylock, moved the shop to Sedalia and called it A&B Auto Trim.

Paul ran the auto upholstery shop until his retirement in 2004, at which point he turned it over to his sons Paul and Mike. “Paul was proud that to this day, the business he started is still in operation with now having 3 generations learning the Auto Upholstery Trade,” his obituary says.

Outside of the shop, Paul was active in the West Central Missouri Vintage Car Club and won various trophies with his collection of classic cars. He also enjoyed dancing with his wife Connie, and one numerous dance competitions at the Missouri State Fair. They were so good, they were featured on television, including the shows “Club Dance” and “Wild Horse Saloon.”

Sadly, Paul died on March 26, 2025. He is survived by his three sons, Paul, Micheal and Scott; grandsons, William and Steven; step-granddaughters, Chastity, Bailey and Allie; great-grandchildren, Anna, Andi, Riley and Kyler; as well as ten additional great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and nephew, Ricky Dean Inman.

May he Rest in Peace.
