Tennis Ball Seat Spring Repair

December 24, 2014 By Naseem Muaddi 1 Comment

Auto Upholstery - The Hog Ring - Tennis Ball Seat Spring

There are a few ways to fix a broken spring in a car seat. Unfortunately for a recent customer of mine, using a tennis ball isn’t one of them.

Believe it or not, the guy hired to fix the seat before me had the nerve to stuff a tennis ball under a broken spring and call it repaired. Still, I have to commend him for trying. Not only did he place the tennis ball under the correct broken spring, he spray painted the bottom of the ball black to match.

Of course, we’re filing this photo in our “Funny Upholstery Repairs” section.

That’s as good as the Mercedes that had been fixed in Mexico with Newspapers ,it lasted till the owner made it to the border .The owner said he wished he would have spent the extra 150 it would have cost in a dependable shop, and that’s what upholsterers have to compete against these days is sloppy work and dumb customers
