Keyston Bros. Acquires DLT Corporation

September 10, 2019 By Nadeem Muaddi

The Hog Ring - Keyston Bros. Acquires DLT Corporation

Keyston Bros. recently announced that it has acquired DLT Corporation.

The move expands Keyston’s reach into the upper Midwest. It also increases the upholstery supplier’s inventory and product line.

“The values and services of DLT Corporation is such a natural fit with our Keyston Family,” said Dan Duncan, President/CEO of Keyston Bros. “It’s going to be fun to watch us bring our same day service and our honest good philosophy to new markets.”

DLT Corporation is not shutting down. Their website will continue to accept orders and the entire staff will stay on to fulfill them.

“The customers are our #1 priority, and we strive to add value to their shops as well as provide relief knowing that we will take care of them,” Brooke Kahn, vice president of marketing at Keyston, said in a statement.

“I think Andrew and Julie Kahn have installed similar values in DLT’s framework, so transitioning to the Keyston Bros. name, will be seamless,” she added, referring to the founders of DLT.

Please join us in congratulating Keyston Bros. and DLT Corporation on their new relationship. We’re particularly excited for DLT Corporation, who are longtime friends and supporters of The Hog Ring.

In 2013, DLT Corporation became The Hog Ring’s first sponsor. Their support came at a pivotal time for our online community, which was still young and struggling to find its place in the industry. DLT’s support afforded us the ability to continue growing The Hog Ring and even opened the doors to other sponsors. For that, we’ll always be grateful to Andrew and Julie, as well as the entire DLT team.

No doubt, the future looks bright for Keyston Bros. and DLT Corporation.

BFD! Both of these companies suck and should not be in business.

You probably suck, too! It wouldn’t surprise anyone to know your work is sub-standard and a real professional has to re- do your work.

We are a 2nd generation upholstery shop bringing the 3rd up now and have been doing business with Keyston for 64 years. As with all suppliers we learned what to buy and who to buy it from. Keyston has been the most dependable company that has been able to fulfill our needs the best over time. They have their strengths and weaknesses as do all suppliers. For the majority of our supplies, tools, materials, etc. they are our go too.

For what it’s worth I’ve been going to Keyston in San Francisco for many years and have had nothing but positive experiences. Invariably it’s the same two friendly guys at the counter and they always work hard to find me what I need. Absolutely zero complaints from this customer.

The first two comments are perfect examples of how the anonymity of the internet, especially comment sections and forums, have turned our social skills into nothing more than verbal mud slinging. It helps you understand the state of our culture these days.

As for Keyston Bros, when I first learned auto upholstery at a community college in San Diego, we took a field trip to their San Diego branch. That was 37 years ago, and they have been on my supplier list ever since. I’ve never had any trouble with them and would recommend them to any other shop. Like Gloria said, I’ve heard of management issues at certain branches, but that happens.

I’m glad that Keyston Bros is still around and expanding, and I am glad for Andrew and Julie of DLT. Congratulations to all, and let’s all continue to help our trade survive and succeed.

Both Keyston and DLT are in my regular supplier rotation. I’ve been buying from DLT (I remember when they were Lite Products) for nearly 30 years and Keyston’s Toledo branch for probably 15 years. Both companies are stacked with great people and they both work very hard to make me happy. Andrew was in my shop maybe 5 years ago and is a great guy who really cares about our businesses. I think both companies have had their troubles with turnover, and I really think DLT’s problem was that they grew too fast and couldn’t keep up. I am excited to see where this goes – it’s like the joining of my two favorite supply houses. For those haters out there – just keep buying from Miami or whatever other guy you use. Congratulations to DLT and Keyston!
