Trimmer Paul Anthony Desire of Callahan, Florida, has died at age 88.
Paul was born on June 2, 1936, in Lansdowne, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Upper Darby High School, he served in the U.S. Marines and later the National Guard.
Upon completion of his service, Paul learned the craft of auto upholstery and eventually opened his own shop in Erial, New Jersey, which he successfully ran for 47 years.
When Paul wasn’t trimming cars, he enjoyed skiing, scuba diving, and fixing anything mechanical. He even had his pilot’s license and owned a Cessna airplane.
“Paul enjoyed life to the fullest and loved sharing stories of his family’s Italian roots. Even traveling to Italy on several occasions. … Paul would go out of his way to help anyone in need, making lifelong friends,” his obituary says.
Sadly, Paul died on April 25, 2025. He is survived by his wife, Janice Jennings Desire; sister, Mary Desire Tuzio; children, Stephanie Roller DeAngelo, Colleen Roller Martin, Mark Desire, Paula Desire Shannon, Michael Desire and Alonda Desire Durham; 9 grandchildren, Kirstyn, Kelli, Lewis, Jackie, Michael, Sophia, Dominick, Jake and Marina; 3 great grandchildren; many cousins, nephews, nieces, and dear friends.
