How Do You Like Our New Look?

July 18, 2017 By Nadeem Muaddi

The Hog Ring - Hod Do You Like Our New Look

We promised The Hog Ring community big changes — and we’re almost there! We’re proud to announce that phase one of our relaunch, a new logo and website design, is now complete.

This new site design makes it easy for trimmers to browse new and old articles on their computers, tablets and mobile phones. A cleaner layout, bigger text, easy navigation, and a more precise search function are just some of the upgrades we made.

We now start phase two: Launching a new, trimmer-only forum! Private messaging and the ability to “like” each others’ posts are just some of the functions we’re introducing to the new forum. Stay tuned for details!

We appreciate your patience as we continue to grow and develop this website. There were some hiccups along the way, and there are likely to be more. But our goal remains the same: To create an awesome and valuable resource for auto upholstery professionals.

Hey Guys – Thanks for all your hard work. I know this takes a lot of effort and time. I think the trimmer-access only forum is going to be a big hit, as will the private messaging option.

As far as the new design, I like it, It’s always hard to acclimate to something new once you’ve become accustomed to a previous version, but the new look is more modern and more accessible. One reaction that I’ll try to convey is that the different sections/categories are hard to visually separate. I don’t know if it’s because the fonts are all the same size or that there are no borders, but it’s kind of hard to easily recognize that this is a new/separate section from the one next to it. Does that make sense?

If there is anything I can do to help, please let me know. I’ll try my best to contribute to your site, which has been a positive development in our trade.

    Jim

As someone who has bought a walking foot machine and is working on it. I am wanting to learn how to use it properly. The old hog ring forum with its how to’s I am missing. I booked marked some of them. Will there be a forum like the old? Sad that I have lost a connection to some very helpful and talented people.
