There’s been a lot of speculation about how self-driving cars will look, especially on the inside. But Elon Musk, the genius behind Tesla Motors and the aerospace program SpaceX, says everyone needs to relax because cabins aren’t going to change all that much.

Concerned citizens in Santa Clara, California, recently called the police on a man they spotted opening the rear hatch of his Tesla Model S and strapping a kid inside. Police, fearing a kidnapping, sped to the scene and held the man at gunpoint.
Despite all the advancements made in car interiors, the sun visor remains a relic of the past. It was introduced in the 1920’s as an exterior-mounted option, relocated inside the cabin in the 1930’s, began to be upholstered in the 1940’s, and was equipped with mirrors and vanity mirrors in the 1950’s. It’s since remained largely unchanged.
Tesla Motors, however, just reinvented the sun visor — and it’s pretty spectacular!
It’s not enough that the Model S runs on electricity instead of gasoline, environmental and animal-rights activists also want Tesla Motors to start offering the vehicle with a vegan interior.
