Italian leather manufacturer Dani is set to close its Slovenian subsidiary, Dani AFC, which produces leather kits for vehicle interiors, according to a report from SeeNews citing local media.
Koroski Radio reported that the decision stems from instability in automotive order volumes, compounded by ongoing energy market pressures and the effects of the war in Ukraine. Additional financial strain came from seasonal labor costs, including winter holiday pay and recent increases to the minimum wage. The station attributed those comments to Dani AFC director Slavko Jovano.
Dani AFC is expected to initiate liquidation proceedings with the Slovenj Gradec court before the end of February, the report said.
Nearly 60 workers are expected to lose their jobs.
