The Auto Upholstery Forum is Back!

August 15, 2017 By Nadeem Muaddi

The Hog Ring - The Auto Upholstery Forum is Back

We’re proud to unveil The Hog Ring’s new and improve Auto Upholstery Forum!

Last month, we presented to this community our new logo and mobile-friendly website. Today, we fulfill our promise to bring you a forum that includes all the features you’ve been asking for, including:

  • Privacy, so that trimmers can speak freely without DIY-ers listening in
  • Direct messaging, so trimmers can have one-on-one conversations
  • Robust profiles, so trimmers can learn more about each other
  • Mobile responsiveness, so trimmers can participate in the forum directly on their phones

This is an entirely new forum, so most of the old threads are gone. However, we did archive the most popular user-submitted how-to guides on our website.

Please join us in creating an invaluable community where auto upholstery professionals, apprentices and students can share tips, tricks and industry secrets in private.

To register for The Hog Ring’s Auto Upholstery Forum, visit forum.thehogring.com. Because this is a private community, approval can take up to 24 hours.

Thanks everyone for your feedback and patience! We couldn’t have launched this new website with your support! Welcome to The Hog Ring!

Yes. As a upholstery shop owner ( just opened a year ago) I hear people say “I can do it cheaper” or my price is too high.

I do tend to get stuck on somethings glad I have somewhere to go

The ones that say they can do it cheaper, they know what thier work is worth, we at Sachse Rod Shop are celebrating our 35 year in business this year,,,,, there’s plenty of work out there,

Yes…drives me nuts…or when they say my price is too high I can buy one new for this…my reply is yep but it’s not custom made etc

My favorite is “I could do this myself, if I had a machine and the tools”
If they could do it they’d have the tools!

Yes. Till I tell them what I paid for my machine. Lol

Why is it that when I try to log in, it says that this connection is not secure? what do I need to do?

That’s probably your internet browser, not the forum. The forum is secure.

Hi everyone, I have a question to ask, I’m not sure if I’m allowed to ask this and if this is not allowed please feel free to delete this post. My dad is ready to retire… finally. He has just under 50 years doing upholstery and wants to sell the company but doesn’t know how to do it. I said I would try to help him do it. He is very old school, no technology. He wanted to just put an add in the local paper. Does anyone know of anyone who may be looking? He has hundreds of repeat customers and has never had any advertising. PM if you know of someone who might want some information.
