Most Corvette Z06 Models Sold are Convertibles

The Hog Ring - Most Corvette Z06 Models Sold are Convertibles

Who says US car buyers are no longer interested in drop tops? New data shows that the majority of Chevrolet Corvette Z06 models sold to date are convertibles.

GM Authority obtained Chevrolet data sheets that state 51% of Z06 models sold so far feature an electrically operated folding hardtop, while 49% have the manually removable targa top.

The data also breaks down sales by exterior and interior color preferences. To date, Black (14%) and Torch Red (12%) are the most popular exterior colors. Inside the cabin, Black (30%) and Adrenaline Red (24%) are also the most popular colors for upholstery and seat belts.

While the color preferences aren’t all that surprising, it’s nice to see so many buyers opting for the convertible — albeit a retractable hard top. It hints at a possible convertible top revival after years of limited models and declining sales.
